Yesterday, Saturday November 23, 2024, VIPs , timbers and Calibers from all walk of life… Academia, Diplomats, head of States, Princes and princesses gathered at the Savannah Center for Diplomacy Democracy and Development compound in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital to celebrate the ACE, and one of the most  celebrated Scholar and Diplomat of our time.

The auspicious occasion was organised by the staff and friends of the Savannah Center for Diplomacy Democracy and Development, SCDDD to ushering one of the most enduring Scholar and Distinguished Diplomat Nigeria has ever produced on the occasion of Prof Ibrahim Agoola Gambari Birthday at 80

It was almost 9 years ago that the First Civilian Governor of Kogi state, North Central, Nigeria, late Prince Abubakar Audu depaparted from this Planet Earth.

How time flies.

He died at the critical period of a cross junction of Kogi state political history.

The period he was in the final round of his quest to return to Lugard House to rescue Kogi state from anarchy occasioned by the menence of Thugry, poverty and disdain for politics and its actors.

It was rumoured he died Nov 21st, 2015 around 4

• Kogi State, North Central, Nigeria Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo had congratulated Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on his victory in Saturday’s Ondo State Governorship election.

Chief Momoh Dauda of KGCSDA says the Agency has completed over 170 micro projects within 4 months.

Which he described as unprecedented in the history of the Agency performance.

Chief Momoh Dauda disclosed this during his Birthday Celebration in his Office , Lokoja, Kogi state Capital, North Central, Nigeria ,on Friday November 15th, 2024.

The kogi State Community and Social Development Agency (KGCSDA) General Manager, Chief Momoh also commended Kogi State State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for timely release of money to the Agency to carryout its core mandate of completing projects for the various communities in the state

Africa This Week

The adage sometimes I thought it was made for me. But in hindsight sometimes I thought it is for everybody. It depends on the vantage point one applies it from.

I bought this PLAQUE on my way from East St Louis, Missiouri, Illinois State, USA.

It was in Summer 1979 my school Lakeland college, Mattoon, Illinois State, USA had deployed me and another student Noah, who is now late (may his soul rest in peace) to serve our internship as Civil engineering Technology students.

But the other guy Noah was recalled for Summer class , because he had failed some courses.

After one week later our civil engineering teacher, Engr Boris decided to redeployed me back to Paris, Illinois not too far from my school considering the distance Engr Boris would take to come to supervise me alone in far away East St Louis.
On my way back I stopped in Ephihaim where I bought myself a Cowboy trouser, shirt and a hat to match.

As I was about to leave this plak cought my attention.

LUGARDTV OFFERS INTERNSHIP PLACEMENT TO BEST GRADUATING MASS COMM STUDENT IN FUL

Lugard TV has offered an internship opportunity to the best graduating student from the Department of Mass Communication from the Federal University, Lokoja, Khadijat Blessing Mohammed.

The Special Adviser on Media to Kogi State Governor, Ismaila Isah who received the FUL best graduating student of Mass Communication at the Government House Media Centre in Lokoja on Thursday noted that the offer is part of the commitment of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to reward excellence by nurturing young talents and providing them with hands-on experience and the enabling environment to grow and succeed as professionals in the media industry.

He noted that the Government House Media Centre and LugardTV will not only afford the student invaluable experience, practical media knowledge and exposure to intense media operation, but will also provide the intern an opportunity to work with media professionals who work in and around the Kogi State Government.

He disclosed that the offer by LugardTV aims to bridge the gap between the academia and the media industry by opening doors for future media leaders.

He further noted that the internship placement is intended to provide the candidate with the chance to engage in various aspects of journalism, high-quality content creation and best-in-class media intelligence from which she may choose to specialize in the industry.

In her response, Khadijat Blessing Mohammed expressed appreciation for the gesture and promised to justify the opportunity in the course of working at the Government House Media Centre as an intern.
