CHAIRMAN AMARI SPEAKS ON NLC RELAXED STRIKE IN NIGERIA.

Comrade Gabriel Amari, Chairman, Kogi State Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC says the Relation of the nationwide indefinite strike was meant to allow Federal Government’s plea for further negotiation.

The NLC Chairman made the remark in an interview with Africa This Week on Thursday,June 6, 2024 in Lokoja, Kogi state capital, North Central, Nigeria.

The main Organized labour
movement in Nigeria, NLC and it’s counterpart the Trade Union Congress,TUC on Monday June 2, 2024 embarked on nationwide indefinate strike after the tripartite Committee set by the Nigerian government failed to agree on the living minimum wage for workers in Nigeria.

The ECOWAS Observation Team Leader Prof Ibrahim Gambari assured journalists and Senegalese of ECOWAS total commitment to ensure the conduct of presidential election is fair, transparent, and follows ECOWAS Protocol for member States in the west African Sub-region and the rest of Africa.

Gambari made the remarks on his arrival at Dakar Airport, Senegal. on Monday March 18, 2024 for the country’s Presidential’s Election.
