The Founder/Chairman of the Savannah Center for Diplomacy, Democracy, and Development, SCDDD, Abuja, Prof Ibrahim A Gambari made the remark as he served as the Presenter of Public Presentation of the Book at Shehu Musa Yar’adua Centre, Abuja, on Tuesday 9th July 2025.

The Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has alleged that some community members from Yelwata community, Benue State aided the attackers who killed several residents recently in the Yelwata community of Benue State.

CDS Musa made the allegation while speaking on Thursday June 19, 2025 in an expanded media interaction at Defence Headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

“Some local informants provided accommodation, food, and even women to the bandits and terrorists who carried out the recent deadly attack”, the Defence Staff alleged.

Nobel Laureate Professor Wole Soyinka had called on President Bola Tinubu to immediately kick start investigation into the mysterious circumstances surrounding the deaths of prominent Nigerians, including Dele Giwa, Kudirat Abiola, and Bola Ige.
