The Chairman,SAVANNAH CENTER FOR DIPLOMACY, Democracy AND DEVELOPMENT, Professor Ibrahim A.Gambari has called for increased approach to bridge the gap in digital divides between the haves and have-nots in the urban and rural dwellers.

He also called for similar approach in bridging the gender inequality in the ownership of digital devices in Africa.

Professor Gambari who is the immediate past Chief of staff in the administration of ex President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari made the remark in an address as a Special Guest Speaker to the 2024 Annual Conference, African Bar Association, Lusaka, Zambia, Tuesday October 29th, 2024.

The former Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prof Ibrahim Gambari speaks on the Digital Divide and its impact on Human Rights in Africa.

The Chairman of SCDDD in his address chronically went through Africa’s space in the emerging history of science, technological, and innovation in African experience.

The Former UN Under-Secretary General, incharge of Political Affairs highlighted the impact and the vulnerabilities on the developing world of digital statistics, especially Africa as a continent in emerging digital human rights and economy.

Prof Gambari said “The digital divide limits access to healthcare through telemedicine, educational resources through e-learning platforms, and even economic opportunities through digital entrepreneurship.

The digital divide is not just about technology, it is about human rights.

It is about ensuring equitable access to the tools and opportunities that can improve the lives of millions of Africans.

Together, through strategic policies, legal advocacy, and collaboration, we can build a brighter, more inclusive future where NO ONE IS LEFT BEHIND” . The Eminent scholar and Diplomat added.

THE TREASURES BEHIND THAT CLOSED DOOR… How Time Flies By Abubakar Sadiq Ibrahim

Amichi, Your little sister Aisha has finally cleared her apartment she rented for 4 yrs at the University.

She traveled back to her school to clean up and gave so many things to a 200level student who needs them.

Besides she cleaned the apartment for the landlord not minding the rent fees increases and leaking roof she endured through out her tennatship.

She sent this closed door photograph to me and wrote “DONE”

And I wrote back to her, Thank you. Giver Never Lack. Open this closed door you might find treasures of her struggle, patients, perseverance, determination, anger, contentment and victory in her Journey to graduate as 20yrs old Hero in that tiny flat of hers.

Of course, She is my Hero and to her siblings.

Then she concluded, “I will go and get my clearance tommorow” she wrote me Thursday October 17, 2024

One thing for sure, she will not be a tenant of that one bedroom cottage again. Congratulations Ayi Baby.Daddy

It’s was an excerpt of my messages to her senior sister in the United States of America whom she had never met, though had talked via video conferences in the past.

The joy of this piece is that I raised Aisha as a single parent, which some of my admirers say I did that because of Americaness in me.

But it’s God and to only Him be the glory.

But I didn’t have that opportunity to impact my presence in Amichi’s life of teething and growing up of joys and pains.

May God Almighty help them to meet each other one day as they grow up.

Don’t ask me why, it’s a long story for another day.
